Remake ideas?
So let's face it, this movie is ripe for a remake. Hwo would you guys like to reinvent it?
Any plot, character things? Actor/Actresses you have in mind?
Anything?

Please no remake. Keep this movie to be original.
shareI am getting tired of remakes.
Most of them are terrible.
Look at Black Christmas (2006), and you will see how unoriginal Hollywood is and how stupid mindless teens are today, not to care about good stuff like Black Christmas (1974)
'Curtains' was made to be an 80's slasher. It has the cheese, the kills and fits into that era of film making so much. It is fine the way it is.
So if your asking for a remake, my question is why?
Becuase people want to watch sh it.

Yeah I agree with what the poster above had said. When something is made the first time, it is always the best because it is original.
shareI'm part of a team currently in the process of remaking CURTAINS. We're in the script stages and are in talks with a producer and a director. I can't say much else right now, but sit tight, it's likely going to happen, hopefully by late 2010!
shareinstead of remaking so many horror films like this, why don't they just re-release the originals in theatres? is it cos no one is making money off putting together a new movie? without all the product placement and actor and director publicity?
also, a remake would turn out so badly, people would figure out the ending cos they would cast a well-known actor as the killer (and up-and-comers in the other parts), therefore ruining everything. unless the whole cast were unknowns, then the story would work. but the sort of audience the director/producers are targeting are the same stupid crowd that want to see big names in these roles. it's a mobius strip of terd.

The script for the remake, as it currently is, keeps quite a bit of the original intact--including the film's two most memorable kills and even many great lines of dialogue--and the basic structure of the original. It's still set in 1980 as well. The original is a fantastic film, one of my favorites, but there are things that went unexplained or totally ignored--likely the result of the mid-production director switch-up--and moments and characters that desperately needed more exposition and fleshing out. And that's what I've done with the script. I care too much for this movie to butcher it, believe me--and I mean that in a real, genuine way, not in clueless Rob Zombie kind of way.
Odds are of course huge that it won't get made but I hope it all works out in the end. Let you know if I hear anything definite in the next few months...
The only reason why I would want a remake would be to get a DVD release for this movie.
My Bloody Valentine got an uncut release along with the remake. So is Friday the 13th.
A remake would maybe make the movie more reconizable
and get us a DVD release in Canada and USA :)
Megan Fox as Tara
Mila Kunis as Laurian
Danielle Harris as Amanda
Sarah Roemer as Christie
Rashida Jones as Patti
Sara Gilbert as Brooke
Jennifer Beals as Samantha
Brian Geraghty as Matthew
Josh Brolin? as Johnathan Stryker (this one was a toughie)
Make it a good remake, maybe have Carl Ellsworth (writer of Disturbia and the Last House on the Left remake)
And have a decent director to pull this off direct the movie
and have Michael Bay executive producer
I love "Curtains". If they remake it good, I won't complain.
Shut up and bleed.
Sorry, but I don't think that any classic horror films are 'ripe for a remake'. For every surprisingly decent one, like The Hills Have Eyes or My Bloody Valentine 3-D (which, let's face it, are only decent in spite of themselves), there's 20 or so that have no business being released.
That house is not fit to live in. No one's been able to live in it. It doesn't want people.

No More Remakes!
They'll never remake this,Nobody even knows it exists.
The problem with Hollywood is that it is a money machine that just wants to take old ideas and tweak them enough to appeal to a new audience. Remakes rarely improve on the original so what's the point. Just what I said, money. They hire cheap writers that can't write to save their life as well because the scripts are terrible. The characters are not developed properly or given any kind of substance and therefore the audience doesn't care about them like they should. If we cared and identified with them, it would pack more of a punch when they meet their unfortunate demise. The story just isn't there either. The Black Christmas remake was so awful. And so many girls are portrayed like cheap, trashy, stupid bimbos which is insulting. The Friday the 13th remake was horrible too. Sex, nudity and weed seemed to be the goal of that film rather than creating any sort of suspense or likeable characters to root on. I love Curtains and am hoping for an official R1 DVD release soon. I hate to say it, but if a remake is what it takes for it to happen, than so be it. It seems to have gotten lost in time. And people should remember that the unexplained is sometimes a very good thing. We didn't know who the killer in the original Black Christmas was, we did not know the motivation of The Birds in Hitchcock's classic, or why Michael Myers was stalking Laurie Strode in 1978's Halloween. So many remakes now shove the motivation and backstory of the villain in your face like that is supposed to make it better. You don't need much of an imagination anymore going into a horror film and that's a sad thing. Okay, I've said my peace.
shareIf they remake it, they should at least mention the original. Lynne Griffin deserves to be Samantha, or at least a cameo as one of the girls in the cuckoo hut. Tara needs an expanded role, just a little but the death scene can stay the way it is. Patti and Christie should be younger than all of the other girls, and the chase scenes CAN NOT be changed or removed in any way!!!
Why are you reading my signature?
This film doesn't need a remake; it's fine the way it is.
