The Synapse Blu-ray is INCREDIBLE

So happy to finally see this gem make it to a proper DVD/Blu-ray release. I remember back when I first saw it in 2006 on a godawful VHS transfer, people were petitioning on this board for a DVD release. It's been a long time coming! I watched the film tonight and seeing it on Blu-ray is like seeing a whole different movie. I didn't even know such a wonderful print of the film existed!

Yes, Synapse did a wonderful job on this release. This day has been coming for a long time. A killer print! Well deserved. Synapse does great work on their horror titles.

Just got it. Waiting for a proper release for years.

Awesome PQ restoration with awesome sound too with the original mono and nice extras too.

Better than any bootleg DVD or those crappy EB DVDs.

Curtains & Prom Night were both made about the same time by the same company. The vhs copies of both have been horrendous as far as quality is concerned.

That is an understatement. Prom Night has had one of the worst VHS releases I've ever seen. There was a crappy Alliance Atlantis DVD too that was cribbed from a VHS copy, which was equally as bad. Echo Bridge's release is great in picture quality, though it's ported from a PAL version so the frame rate is slightly faster (I have trouble noticing it though). I have the original 1998 Anchor Bay DVD in my collection, and it's my go-to whenever I want to watch this film, because frankly I think it's the best one available. Now with the Blu-ray coming out today though, I'm beyond excited. Crossing my fingers that my local Barnes & Noble will get it in (they got Curtains eventually), if not, I'll have to order online.

Too bad it's region locked. Had to get it on DVD instead.
