I think he was around 6 or 7. Pretty good performance considering his age.

I thought Danny Pintauro did an incredible job acting in this movie. He truly seemed terrified and also did a great job during his seizure. I always thought he was such a cute little kid, too lol.

Yes I think he's the coolest little kid actor ever! His voice was so high pitched and cute, awwww! I love how they call him 'The Tadder' as well, well at least they do in the book, can't remember about the movie. Also how he brings 'The Monster Words' everywhere with him, was really devastated at the end of the book!
He should have received a best supporting oscar nod for his performance...he was so believable.
