Actors Ages

Made in 1983, its hard to believe the characters actual ages considering they are playing, I guess, 17yr olds in prep-school;

Andrew McCarthy - 21
Rob Lowe - 19
John Cusack - 17
Alan Ruck - 27!!!

Rob Lowe turned 18 on the set of the Outsiders, I'm not sure which movie was first but that would make him seventeen or eighteen, but I do like your post, what always cracks me up is Grease(they are way older than there ages, in fact i think some of the students are older than the teachers.)

WOW! Pretty interesting. They all looked like they were teenagers to be honest with you when this film was made.

She has definitely aged but still looks stunning and recognizable to me.
Some people age faster than others, which is why some aren't as recognizable as others later in life.

That is why they call it acting. Was the movie a comedy or a drama? sex scenes were pretty good. I'll never watch it again. Once is enough.

Bissett honestly looked her age in this film or close to it. She was beautiful but a beautiful 39.

She never looked young for her age.

It has nothing to do with acting.

Having children less than 17 or 18 on the set is a hassle. There are child labor laws governing how long they can work per day and you have to provide teachers to keep them up to date in their studies. It's much easier to cast 18+ year olds as teens.

Unfortunately I think this has caused us to have a skewed idea about what teens are supposed to look like.

I watched this movie several times when I was much younger. Fast forward to now, I just watched it last night and they look SOOOOOOOOOO young! Andrew McCarthy looks younger than 21, he definitely looked 17 or 18. Rob Lowe and John Cusack looked 17 or 18 too. But Alan Ruck definitely did not look 27!! I didn't realize he was so much older. He looked like a kid! Wow!
