Some one please tell me if this movie is acceptable for a 16 year old to watch.

MMMMMMMM JUST FOUND IT IN MY CLOSET, MORE THAN 20 YEARS A BOUGHT IT (vhs) AND JUST WATCHED AGAIN WITH MY 15 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, IT´S OK, BUT SOME SENCES ARE A LITTLE REDISH IF YOU UNDERSTAND ME. BUT ITS A COOL MOVIE....I LOVE ANDREW MCCARTHY, THAT WHY I STILL HAVE IT...GOOD LUCK

It's OK for a 16 year old. There's no nudity or sex shown--the R rating is for some (pretty mild) language.

I've seen the movie twice. The sex was all within a PG rating and there was no nudity (unless you count the REAL quick flash we got when McCarthy accidentally rips a girls blouse open).
That girl was Virginia Madsen...later Creator with Peter O'toole, Sideways etc etc...

This concern for censorship to "protect" a 16 year old a little silly. I mean, you watch REAL blood on sports and news all the time. This movie has none of that. No need for concern about a 16 year old who is going to hear words their friends use all the time. I never heard of someone not being a well-adjusted adult simply because they grew-up hearing expressive language. There should be no concerns about a 16 year old seeing a movie where people not married sleep together.

I remember when Porky's first came out in the early 80's and I was allowed to watch the movie except for the scene with Lassie which is played by Kim Catrell. My parents told me to leave the room because they knew what was going to happen.
I am 35 years old and my parents permitted me to watch movies with nudity and profanity in it at a young age. I think it is good for a 16 year old to watch this movie.
You cannot shelter them all of their lives you know. They have to view things and will eventually experience them themselves you know.
