How many used to look forward to the JC Penny and Sears catalogs during Xmas? Oh, and Montgomery Ward, too

shareOh yeah!! I loved it. I still have a Sears Christmas catalog from 1972. It's fun to look at it and travel back in time once in a while. I'm sad that the later generations of kids don't have that thrill. Everything is just readily available on Amazon year around.

shareNext best thing to going to visit Toys R Us.
shareI did. Mainly only ever got the JC Penny one though. But only because back then my parents didn't have internet in their house.
shareWe used to get Sears catalogs in the 80’s.
shareAh yes, the toy sections. We used to sit there and study the items instead of flipping through them at a million miles an hour.
shareAh yes....studying the toy section. Great memories!!
P.S. As I got older I might have done a bit of glancing at the lingerie section now and then. Just to see how the styles were changing of course. Lol
Sad how today's kids don't have annual rituals like this anymore. No wonder so many of them are growing up bitter and jaded.
shareAbsolutely. Loved turning the pages of the Sears WishBook. I found the baby doll I wanted, and Santa brought her. Magical time.
