Yes, given the production problems that were such a part of this movie, it would be a decent candidate for a re-make. My only hesitation about remaking this film is that in today's Hollywood atmosphere, it would most likely be cast with actors/ actresses who are WAY too young for these roles (can you imagine a 23 year-old Lillian and a 25 year old wunderkind Dr. Brace?) and the cause of her heart problem would have to be some congenital problem since smoking like a chimney is a big no-no in today's films! I also would fear that the film would focus on the "special-effects" rather than on the more interesting stories about the impact of this technology on the various characters. The military conspiracy aspect would be timely today, and I'm sure that a re-make could do a better depiction of the "secret manufacturing facility", which looked like studio lunchroom with a few package conveyors taken from a UPS warehouse set up. That was the most lame part of the film. If it were mine to re-make, maybe David Duchovney as Dr. Brace and Glen Close as Lilian.... eeewhh that would be a weird pairing up! Maybe let's just nix the remake idea!
