Recorded sex scene cut?

Does anyone remember additional footage of the recorded sex scene in the original release? I saw this movie a few times on HBO when I was a kid, and I have distinct memories of the scene as being longer (maybe 3X - 4X, at least) and a bit different, perhaps with two girls. On the DVD, the scene appears when Brace finds Hal and checks out the recording himself.

Am I just remembering incorrectly? The nudity was always my favorite part when I was a kid, so I was sort of fixated on it, even though I LOVED this movie otherwise.

he was a kid.... the only thing I remember about "R" rated movies from when I was a kid was violence and nudity. What did you do when you saw a naked woman as a kid... run and play with your barbies?

Give the guy a break.

I just watched the DVD after not seeing this film for many years. I watched it as a teenager on HBO as well and I think the sex scene is the same. It is just as I remembered it.

And there are certainly some films where the sexual parts are my favorite. That is natural if you are healthy and not a sexually repressed freak like one of the previous posters.

EXACTLY! While we remember other elements of films...all of us do...When you are just starting to turn into your pre-teens then 'Rated R' films are taboo and therefore very memorable indeed! Give the guy a break, jagoff!

That poster reminds me of a "born-again" I knew... he was in his mid-30's and closed his eyes during sex scenes, or nudity. Or another idiot I knew who said a recent movie was pretty good, except for the sex and violence.

I worked at a company, where there was a group of those "born-again" types. They would haunt each other's offices and never talk about work. When they downsized they blow all that deadwood right out the door!

Filmed nudity is subject to debate as it can be gratuitous or it can be artful and intrical to the plot. It depends, you see.

It can also be completely incidental cf. Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio spends about five minutes of The Abyss topless and no-one ever notices.

I just watched it for the first time in many years and I thought the sex scene lasted longer.

I thought about it for a while and I've come to the conclusion I'm inserting the extra footage from Strange Days.

The sex scene looks the same to me. Could you be confusing it with DreamScape's edited sex footage?

I totally forgot all about Dreamscape. Thank you! That's a great movie that was WAY ahead of it's time.

People who like the Matrix films need to watch Dreamscape since it parallels many of the same concepts that the Matrix films would later develop further.

I have exactly the same feeling. Saw the movie on German television when I was a kid and remember that scene being at least twice as long as shown on the DVD.

Very often German DVD versions are based on US DVD releases and do not show exactly the version of a film that had been running in German theaters or on German TV stations. It is no secret that Germans tend to cut the fight scenes while accepting more nudity.

Just saw the movie on TV in my country. It appears to be the short version you're talking about. I doubt a longer version exists though because there is almost no censorship at all over here. You can say f!ck or show some tits at 6PM on a children cartoon network and nobody would give a damn.
