Was this one ever done by Mystery Science Theater 3000? If so, what is the episode #; if not, does anybody have an idea why not?

Yes. It was episode 301 I believe.

I believe it was actually the sequal that was on MST3K as "Cavedwellers"

Actually the one on MST3K as "Cave Dwellers" was "Ator The Invincible II", the first sequel to this one.

I'm forever glad and grateful that this film never got the copping a superior attitude snarky'n'sarcastic treatment from that ghastly show. Otherwise, this board would be flooded with annoying posts from obnoxious poseur hipster wannabes sharing their favorite "witty" quotes from the episode this movie got trashed on.
