Best movie not only about high school football
But about high school itself and blue collar small town life. I loved the authenticity of many parts of this movie.

I agree. I think it is one of the best high school movies. Very good actors, and I like the town where the action takes place. Unfortunately totally underrated.
shareI agree with you two out of three. It is a great film about high school life and blue collar small town life. I think "Remember the Titans" is the best high school football movie made.
share"Remember The Titans" is a joke. It is just another rehashed commentary on social issues, racism, etc. Those thems have been rehashed for over and over for decades and are overplayed.
On the other hand, "Friday Night Lights" and "All The Right Moves" are much more entertaining. Great stories, great actors, and familiar themes that can be appreciated by all, especially by those who actually played the game.

"Friday Night Lights" and "All The Right Moves" are fiction..... "Remember the Titans" is a true story.... so your point does not make sense.

Your point is the one that makes no sense. Pay closer attention and look at the title of the thread, "Best movie not only about high school football"
Under the title of the thread, what does it matter if the story is truth OR fiction?
Oh, yes, you might want to check your facts next time. The movie "Friday Night Lights" is based on a nonfiction book entitled "Friday Night Lights: A Town, A Team, and a Dream" written in 1990 by H.G. Bissinger.
Try Google next time :)
I agree. This film offers a very strong and authentic slice of small town working class American life with an especially astute grasp of everyday people who aspire to make something out of their lives.
"We're all part Shatner/And part James Dean/Part Warren Oates/And Steven McQueen"
I've been a high school coach for over 30 years and I'd say RTT was very good but sanitized quite a bit as a Disney picture. FNL was the best depiction I've seen as to why it captivates players and towns. ATRM probably 3rd. And then quite a distance to the Varsity Blues type.
shareAll The Right Moves is VERY underrated.
