PARALLELS WITH TED BUNDY

Critics have compared this film to the real life Richard Speck murders in 1966 but I saw parallels to Ted Bundy. Warren, like Bundy drives a VW bug and the climax of the film was similar to Bundy's raid on the Phi Delta Kappa house at FSU back in 1978. Bundy's furious assault was sparked by rejection and humiliation by two attractive women earlier that evening.

I saw the parallels with him as well...I own a copy of "Ted Bundy" on DVD and couldn't help but think that they got most of the character background of Warren Stacy from the most infamous mass murderer of all time.

You are right. There are many more similarities with Ted Bundy than Speck.

I found an eerie similarity between the chase scene in the woods with the girl and Warren in the beginning and the scene at the lake in the movie Ted Bundy with Michael Reilly Burke made in aprx 2001.

Btw, its Chi Omega, not Phi Delta Kappa

Whilst I also instantly noticed the Bundy similarities (the VW bug, especially)...I implore people not to use the insanely inaccurate (and downright garbage) movie with Michael Reilly Burke. NOT a good Ted Bundy reference point...at all.

Well, the Wikipedia page for this film has been updated to include the names of both Speck AND Bundy.

And I also agree; I was reminded of both killers when watching the film.

Wait a minute... who am I here?

Warren was definitely patterned more after Bundy than Speck.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

Though there may be more similarities with Bundy, it is loosely based on The Speck murders.
