Anyone BLAME Bronson for the Death of the 3 Nurses?

I personally don't (I don't think that's fair really - the killer truly WAS a psycho, etc.), but I'm surprised it hasn't come up before (or maybe it has and I missed the thread).

Must be just die-hard Charlie fans here (which I have NO problem with! - lol) - I thought for sure someone would start a thread saying something along the lines of the idea that Bronson indirectly CAUSED those girls to be murdered because of his non-stop harassment of our evil, naked bad guy.

Thoughts?

Kessler caused him to start killing again, but even if he didn't, more people were going to turn up dead at some point, anyway. We know from the interrogation scene that Stacy has been cutting up women from when he was a kid and there was no changing him.

What, really, could Kessler have done otherwise? Everyone who's been around Stacy knows that he's trash, the diary and all of the other peripheral clues single him out as guilty, but all Kessler can do is try to set him up or stalk him.

By the way, how about McAnn sharing some of the blame? McAnn is DATING a potential victim and still, it's not enough for him to rat out Stacy in court. I'm not saying that perjury is good, but the whole point of the film is that law doesn't always equal justice.

I felt that all the long while Stacy was killing the nurses, Kessler's daughter should've done something...tried to stop him or run for the front door or whatever. Sure she's scared, but she's a tough broad, too.

McAnn, Kessler & Laurie all played a part in the murders of those nurses. First, McAnn by not lying on the stand even though he knew Kessler was right. Then, Kessler baiting the killer and following him around, that made him go after Laurie. Then, Laurie could have made a run for it while the killer was screaming at Bunny - perhaps then he would have left Bunny and Ola alone while chasing after her.

Stacey would have killed again sooner or later. All Kessler's harassment did was make sure it was sooner.

The chick shouldn't have even opened the door! Seriously?! How many times are you told not to open the door for strangers especially at night?!
