Mrs. King has a black son? What's "up" with that (as the kids say)?

I love you.

reply

I don't think she could have children. So she adopted a child.

reply

Mrs. King has a black son?

wait...what? she has two boys, Jamie and Phillip and neither is black. So, again....what?

Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya.
You killed my father. Prepare to die.

reply

I saw a comedian on a television programme who's name was "Greg Morton." Intrigued by his vast repertoire of funny voices and sound effects, I got on the "Internet" to see what kind of work he had done. He was listed on "IMDB" on "The Scarecrow and Mrs. King" as won of Mrs. King's sons. The only problem is that Greg Morton is (or appears to be) a coloured person--sorry, "person of colour." I must admit, I did not watch much of "The Scarecrow and Mrs. King" when it was on the "air," but I was pretty sure that Mrs. King and the other members of her family were white. Did she have a black son (not that it should matter, by any means, but it just seemed like an odd casting choice) on the programme? I love you all.

reply

Must have been the show you were watching or that the actor who called himself 'Greg Morton' was NOT the same actor who portrayed one of Amanda's sons.

reply

It's the same guy, you nay-sayer. His website lists his television credits, which are the same as the wons listed here, only IMDB has him listed as won of the sons on the "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" programme. Why do you think I posed the question in the first place?

reply

I never watched "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" once. What was it even about? I gather a scarecrow figures in there. And a married woman? Is she married to the scarecrow? Is it a spin-off of 'The Wizard of Oz?' Or 'Welcome Back, Kotter?'

If anyone can help me out, it would be appreciated. I'd use Google but I don't know how to spell it. Now look down your shirt and spell 'attic.' Go on. Do it.

reply

'... The only problem is that Greg Morton is (or appears to be) a coloured person--sorry, "person of colour." ...

Since there is no picture on his IMDB page, how could you conclude that he is a "person of color"?
I watched the show for the whole time it was rerun on PAX and he (Greg played Jamie the younger son, BTW) was a little Caucasian boy with light brown-almost blonde hair. I also saw him at a Fansource event in 2002 or 03, I believe, and he was still white.
You definitely have him confused with someone else!

reply

Look, fools: I know what Greg Morton looks like because I SAW HIM ON MY TELEVISION. Why is this so hard for you grasp? In fact, I believe I stated this in my original post. I wouldn't just make a post, assuming somebody was coloured without ever having seen him, and then ask why he played a white character. And no, he was not "Caucasian" or "light-brown-almost-blonde" haired either. He was BLACK. OK? BLACK. Is that such a hard concept for you Internet drones to fathom? Sheesh.

Here's a tip: Go outside wonce in a while. I think a little fresh air and some contact with real humans might do you people some good.

reply

Is it on purpose, that you always write "won" instead of "one"?

Ever since I read "Internet" in quotation marks in your first posting, "WavyG", I knew you were trying hard to come off as a jerk. Your last posting proved it.

Here's a tip: If you are wrong and you know it... admit it. Or at least don't try being clever on other peoples expense. Trust me, you don't pull it off very good.

reply

I'm not trying to come off as a "jerk." And I am not wrong. I can prove my case. Greg Morton is black. Look on his "website:" http://www.gregmorton.com.

There. BLACK. Is that clever enough for you? Or should I put THAT in quotes, nay-sayer? Good evening.

Alright, clowns. I'm back for won post only, and I'm going to try to explain this using small words, so listen up and listen good: The Greg Morton I'm talking about, the Greg Morton who is listed on IMDB as playing won of the sons on "The Scarecrow and Mrs. King" is the SAME Greg Morton whose website I looked at (the won where they have pictures of him, and he is BLACK). Do you want to know how I know? Pay attention to this part: THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME CREDITS LISTED!!!!@!!!@@! The only difference is, his website doesn't list "The Scarecrow and Mrs. King." I don't know how much clearer I can make this. If this guy named Greg Morton has the same credits as the Greg Morton on "Gregmorton.com," that leads me to believe they are the same person. Get it? Do you now understand why I posed this question? It doesn't freaking matter if there's some other person who was a miscelaneous crew member on some dumn Robert Altman film or something, who conincidentally has the same name because that's NOT THE GUY I SAW ON TELEVISION!!!!@# Do you get it now, plebeians?

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, do yourself a favour: remove your left shoe. Hit yourself in the forehead with it. Repeat step 2 until A) it hurts, or B) you have the ability to deduce a logical conclusion.

Goodbye again.

reply

Actually there a 3 Greg Mortons, you little creep.
The first is the son of Mrs. King.
The second is a miscellaneous crew guy, who coincidentally worked on AlfTales and Captain N, just like the first one.
The third one, the comedian, who is black and who you saw on TV, never made a movie in his life.

Now go play in a microwave.

So there are three Greg Mortons and IMDB decided to consolidate two of them into won? Sure, that makes sense.

Well, you pulled my leg. Congratulations.

I can honestly say I have no idea what you're talking about.

Why in Heavens name would IMDB combine two different people into won, unless they are, in fact, the same person?

reply

As I said:
The 3rd Greg Morton never made a movie. He is not listed on IMDB.
That's it.

And you pulled our collective leg by acting like a stupid *beep*. Initially you had me convinced, but your last post cried: "Nobody can be this stupid, unless they are a twin! He's pulling your leg!"

That's enough now, though. Cut it out.

Actually, if you're referring to the "Why would IMDB consolidate two Greg Mortons into won?" remark, that was an attempt at sarcasm because of your *your* stupid remark. I am genuinely concerned about your inability to make logical connections based on the flow of discourse, as is evident in this thread. I have forwarded your posts to a Psychologist who will be using you as the basis for future studies on the Internet's effect on the atrophy of the human brain.

As someone whose native language isn't english I can't respond to a word like "starkle" or "starkel", because I don't get it.
This may heavily depend on our cultural differences.
If you were so kind as to interpret it for me, I would be most grateful.

And I really do think that this Wavy guy just acts the fool.

I know this is somewhat of an old thread but I stumbled upon on it and felt compelled to respond with some clarifications. Krokodil, I know for a fact that you are 110% right that the Greg Morton in "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" is NOT Greg Morton, the comic, that WavyG is talking about. I don't care if "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" is listed on his website, whoever gathered the info for the site is wrong. The person must have gotten the two Greg Mortons' credits confused and lumped them all together as one. A lot of the TV sites seem to be doing that. So WavyG, since you have never seen a single episode of SMK, you do NOT know for sure that the Greg Morton on there is the Greg Morton you are talking about. And according to this site http://www.gregmorton.com/credits.html Greg Morton the comic worked in animation and voiceovers and other stuff for several cartoons in the 80's and 90's. Now, the Greg Morton who was in SMK was born in 1973, so if he was working as an animator and a voice director in then he must be one hell of a child prodigy. And not to mention I just got done watching a handful of episodes of "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" on AOL and Warner Bros' In2TV website http://television.aol.com/in2tv/dramarama_tv and it is obvious that both of those little boys have dirty blonde hair and are as white as white can possibly get. Sorry, WavyG, I think it's time that you feast on a little crow.

Thank you. That's all I needed to hear. Why was this so hard for everywon else?

As far as "eating crow," I don't think that's necessary. After all, look at what I've done for you all. I uncovered a glaring faux-pas on the Internet. Thanks to my exposé, perhaps its designers will now go about fixing it. Hopefully soon, they will be releasing "The Internet 2.0," free of any "Greg Morton" mixups.

reply

...And yet no won bothers to thank me. Gee, really friendly place, this "Internet."

reply

I know this is an old post but I was reading it laughing my butt off. Greg Morton would love to hear he's a black comedian I'd bet. As for IMDb, its wrong a LOT! On this site for Scarecrow and Mrs. King, its lists Bruce Boxleitner who was in EVERY episode (because he WAS the Scarecrow) as only being in four episodes. I've learned to take IMDb listings with a grain of salt.

First off, if you're going to post with authority on the net, learn to SPELL. If you can't then try using a little site I like to call www.dictionary.com. It's really wonderful when YOU CAN'T SPELL.

With that said. OOOOOOOOOOOH a "glaring faux-pas on the internet" I've got news for you, that's not the first, nor will it ever be the last of them. The net's full of them, has been for years. I've gone to professional sites and found typos and spelling errors, not to mention dead links and other coding issues.

Also, if you want to speak on authority about a show you have never seen, try watching it. I don't put any stock into a person unless they've done their homework. I myself watched Scarecrow and Mrs. King during its original run in the 80s and tuned into it when Pax aired it a few years ago. With AOH showing SMK online, there is no excuse for you to not tune in and educate yourself.

thank yew. :) Unfortuntly Batwoman was taken by the time I got here (about a year ago) so I had to be creative.

reply

Yuck, that name makes it sound like you are having "female problems."

reply

Of course because we all know women will set up user names that are female problems. *rolls eyes* You know you really should grow up and get a life. My username not only does not "sound like I'm having female problems" but it has nothing to do with it.

reply

Yeah, right. You probly set that user name up on purpose, just so somewon like me can come along and innocently make a comment about what is obviously a joke about "female problems," and then you can call in all your woman friends, and you will all jump to attack me (because we all know it is the time of the month for the "female period"). I'm totally on to you chicks.

reply

What is your deal? You can't spell, you cause problems on purpose and then act like you're all innocent. Do you get your kicks out of that? And its SomeONE not someWON. You really need to learn how to spell CORRECTLY and then people might start taking you more seriously!

reply

See, I told you guys all the chicks would join together and attack me.

ATTN: ALL MEN. I need somewon to jump in and help me! I'm being attacked by mean chicks!

reply

The guys won't help you because you don't know how to spell, what you're talking about and can't be taken seriously. I'm sorry if you don't like that! We aren't being mean!

If you seriously like the show, then by all means, stay and participate. If you don't, please take the pitiful act somewhere else please.

reply

Count me in as a mean chick! So what if women get periods? That doesn't mean we're an inferior species! Or whatever. Whatever women are. I mean, I'm not a scientist; I don't know exactly which race women are. But I know we're not dumb! A least we *have* a period! You can't say that for yourself, can you!

Sorry Batwoman, but that did make me giggle.

WavyG, in the future, it would help if you did more research before posting about an actor on a show you've never seen. It is very easy to find pictures from the show, Scarecrow and Mrs. King online. Any of the pictures of Jamie (Greg Morton) would have cleared up your confusion about him being black. It's not the duty of people on this board to look up this information for you. The previous posters told you that there was more than one Greg Morton and that the Greg Morton you were referring to was not the one from the show. When presented with the statement that there was indeed more than one Greg Morton, you should have researched it yourself instead of continuing an argument when you obviously had faulty facts. Instead of foisting the duties of looking up such information on other people, do it yourself. Google.com is a wonderful invention. Make use of it next time you have a question.

P.S. It's never a smart thing to rely on just one or two internet sites for information because so many have the wrong information. IMDB, itself, is notorious for having faulty informtaion. Always take the information provided on this site with a grain of salt.

reply

It was still funny, Katy. Tell WavyG that he is welcome to stay if he doesn't try to keep starting trouble. It's a great show, I think he'd like it if he saw it. Are you a fan of the show?

And I agree with you Cloudburst. It's definitely to bad that IMDb, the site that's supposed to be to find out accurate information about movies, tv shows, etc., often has more inaccurate information than accurate. Are you a fan of the show too? If so, welcome to the forum and if you've been here before, then I'm late once again..LOL

I just figured that, maybe, an obvious explanation for you alls' "theory," was that he was born white, and later in life became black. I've seen studies and stuff done on this, like, at the mall.

Well, have a pleasant evening.

reply

I do like the show although I'm more an X-Files/Buffy:The Vampire Slayer kinda person. I remember watching Scarecrow and Mrs. King with my mom when I was young. It is her favorite show. I often make the rounds to see if there has been any new information regarding releasing the show on DVD. My mom isn't very computer proficient so I keep her up-to-date on stuff like that.

reply

We all wish SMK was on DVD officially but alas, so far it is not. To bad, the powers that be at WB won't get off their tushies and get it done.

There are a lot of people in our group who are also X-Files fans.

Neeney

reply

That's clinically impossible to do. Plus, recent pictures suggest that he is STILL very much a white boy.

Hey Katy wants to breed with you! Why don't you concentrate on that for the time being?

**I just figured that, maybe, an obvious explanation for you alls' "theory," was that he was born white, and later in life became black. I've seen studies and stuff done on this, like, at the mall.**

So have I. I've taken applications from people who've checked the newly designed special box that reads...*used to be Caucasian until I turned African American.* I'd love to see how one explains that to their family. ROTFLMAO!!

I'm curious what a 'you alls' would be referring to? Is that plural possessive? Or should that read 'all y'all?' Please enlighten me: What is it that you've been smoking at the mall to make you actually believe the ridiculous statement you've posted above? LOL
