Will Scarecrow and Mrs. King ever come out on DVD?
shareI've already registered and voted at http://www.tvshowsondvd.com. After they get enough signatures, they go to the company with the petition to convince them to put it on DVD. It worked with Macgyver, The Brady Bunch, Full House and many other shows. Please also vote for Jag.
shareVoting at www.tvshowsondvd.com also recently worked for Remington Steele! -- With Bruce successful with Babylon 5 and Kate successful with Charlie's Angels, you'd think they'd realize that releasing Scarecrow and Mrs. King would be a hit too!!
shareSMK is way overdue. Come on suits, release it! It's a fun show and people will rediscover it. I've seen the old TV crap that has been put out on DVD lately and SMK is only 4 seasons and well more deserving.
shareAmazon.com has a listing for the show. Put your e-mail in the box to be informed when it comes out and that counts as a vote. Right now it says that it will be released in 1969 but well, that's obviously a typo or error.
shareI have the entire four episodes on dvd, bought it off ebay, it is a collection someone else taped off PAX and burned to dvd. Has it's kinks but still I am lovin it.
sharewho sold to you the set and for how much? I look ebay occasionally and never see it and I know my dad would love it...
shareI was lucky in that I taped the episodes when they were on PAX. Video quality is not very good, but it's definitely still watchable. I am now in the process of burning them over to DVD and removing commercials -- well, most of them. I absolutely love this show and really wish they would bring it out on DVD. Of course, the episodes on PAX were cut from the originals, but at least it's something. :-D

If you come across an episode called "a little sex, a little scandal" PLEASE let me know! I recently purchased the entire dvd set from a company in Canada (all of the DVD's aren't perfect, but they're still enjoyable!), but that one episode was messed up.
Please let me know...
I'll watch for it. I think I have it on VHS, just haven't transferred it to DVD. I have 12 to 15 8-hour tapes of the show, so it's taking me a while to get them over to DVD...
Teresa
I just ordered those as well. I was wondering if the episodes were cut at all. The ones taped off of Pax have scenes cut from them. Are the DVDs from Canada the same or are the episodes complete? Thanks!
sharei got my set from a private website on dvd. If i see that episode i'll let you know

Amazon has a few tapes from the show. They are however a bit ridiculous. $45 for 1 tape. Come on!

I had purchase a few tapes from Amazon.com when the price was under $10. I have maybe 5-6 episodes. Not sure. I record straight from Vcr to DVD via a professional Panasonic DVD recorder. I see that someone on this message board has several hours worth in episodes. Maybe we can make a deal. send them to me and I can record them and help satisfy the national demand. I'm not an opportunist, just someone who wants to help out others. I am a BIG fan of Kate Jackson and the show myself and am looking to find episodes. As a hobby I collect my old favorite TV shows from the 70's, 80's & 90's. I anyone out there has TV shows on Vhs, I would be very interesting in purchasing. Let me know what you have and we can talk about it.
I'm looking for great "mainstream" shows as well as shows that were cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons.
A few that come to mind right now are:
Valerie (Valerie Harper), The Hogan Family (Valerie Harper/Jason Bateman), Sisters (Sela Ward), Scarecrow & Mrs. King, Just our luck (T.C. Carter), to more recent shows from the WB (1999-2004) Jack & Jill (Amanda Peet), Hyperion Bay (Mark Paul-Gosselar), Jack & Bobby (Christine Lahti), Happy Family (John Laroquette)
Let me know your thoughts on this and if anyone can help or would like my help.
As a true Scarecrow and Mrs. King Fan, I remember how much I love this show. I'm 26 and loved watching this show when I was a kid. I remember the primetime line up. If i'm not mistaken, Scarecrow & Mrs. King at 8p.m. and then the A-Team at 9p.m. I love & miss the 80's.

I can't find the link to get informed.

Actually you can just go to www.amazon.com and type in scarecrow & Mrs. King and it will show all the results for that search.
I have found on the following website, Scarecrow and Mrs. King DVDs (actually I think its DVRs). Has anyone purchased these and are they worth buying? Anything missing from them? I wish it would be brought out on DVD... thanks, Linda

I was looking at the same thing. I noticed that it is DVR's.
shareI recently purchased the DVDs from that site and it seems very sketchy. I am pretty sure they are not on the up and up and there is at least one episode screwed up. I am very happy to have them at all, but if they are ever available "for real" and not off of a bad VCR recording I will buy them again.
Boiled down - if you have a major jones, go for it, but wait it out if you want them in good condition.
I talked to someone at WB the other day, and they said it was "possible" for a DVD release, but still no plans.
I got my DVDs from the Scarecrow and Mrs. King Anniversary group. They have the entire series from the original run. That means they're uncut with no missing scenes like was on PAX or other cable. They sell as a fundraiser for the 25th anniversary. The quality is great and the money goes to a cause I am all for. They even said if the 25th doesn't happen, the money will go to charity.
Go to their website www.smkanniversary.com then click Products and then the DVD link.
Thank you for this info. I think this is a much better idea - even if a little more expensive - than buying them from someone who is making cheap copies. Thanks.
shareActually, if you want them bad enough, you can find the entire collection. I just purchased 16 dvd's, all 88 episodes. They are copies of the tv show when aired. The copies are as good as watching them from vhs tapes.I paid less then $40.00 for the lot. If they don't release authorized dvd's soon, the market will be flooded soon with cheap copies. The owners of "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" are loosing money everyday.
shareCould you let us know where you got ahold of the DVD's, and the quality? I have seen a couple of web sites which are selling DVD's of the show, but do not know anything about the companies. Thank you so much :>
shareI just started looking for SMK DVD's for a Christmas gift. Does anyone know if the set available at tvdvdplanet.com is any good? Otherwise I'll have to go with the anniversary group. Thanks.
shareI dont.
"Mom,usually your hair is sort of frazzled."
They are ok, but not of course top quality, which we will NOT get until they are OFFICIALLY released which they have NOT been. On the tv site they are WAY to much money so if you really wanna get them, your best bet would be to get them from the anniversary group. Hope this answered your question.

Smile, it makes people wonder what you're up to!
I ordered them from the anniversary group and they suck, considering the price. There are commercials in them, missing parts from where someone paused too long when trying to cut commercials, they're grainy, there's one point where the show just stops and starts up in a different episode. I guess it's better than not watching them at all, but I don't have much money and had I known they were in that condition, I wouldn't have bought them.
shareI'm sorry to hear that. I'm always leery of buying DVD's that aren't officially out yet. Especially since I'm like you, I have no money. I've heard mostly good about the DVD's from the anniversary group but my set isn't from there so I don't know. If they are anything like the video tapes I have, they are all different quality.
Hopefully WB will get off their collective butts and release it officially, but I'm not holding my breath that it will be any time soon.

shareWhats the quality of these dvds? Has anyone bought and viewed them?
shareIf they're anything like the ones my aunt bought for me the quailty is decent but they are WAY to expensive. I can't remember what site she got them from.
