Quotes

If anyone can remember quotes, I know it's been awhile, but I thought I'd try here's some of my Faves:

A:I've been mugged!
L:What!
F:You know I was mugged just last week. I was on a surveillance team at the airpirt, then, suddenly, I felt an arm around my neck. I stepped on his instep with my heel, thumbed his eyes, grapped his forearm, elbowed his larinyx, and upward thrusted with my knee.
A:I would have screamed.
F:So did he.

A:It's not a date Mother.
D:Sure...I just dont understand her, on a scale of one to ten he's an eleven and my daughter doesn't want to date him...What is she crazy?

A: My car needs to get to the shop, my lawn mower's shot, and my two little boys are going to have to put their pet goldfish on the auction block, all because SOMEONE forgot to pick me up, to take me to the bank to get a loan.

reply

L:(to billy) Well which direction did you sneeze?
B: I don't know! It was a big sneeze! Out?!

A: How did you know it was me?
L: Whose else's last words would be "Oh MY God!"?

A: Once on the lips forever on the hips.

reply

There are WAY too many fabulous quotes to list them all but here's a few of my absolute faves:

A: Well, couldn't we just clean up a little while you set the search grid?
F: This is a search Amanda, not Home Ec.

L: I don't believe it. The road we're on doesn't even exist....
A: Well
L: Well, what?
A: Well, go ahead and ask.
L: Go ahead and ask what?
A: Go ahead and ask me to get out the Junior Trailblazers map so we can find out where we are.

Holt: What is with that woman?
F: The million dollar question.

CJ: I need numbers fast...and maybe some garlic and a crucifix.

reply

Francine always gets the great one liners.

I love their bickering!

reply

Francine had the BEST lines ever!
The ever classic "Life of the Party" episode:

F:Silly me, after all these years I thought the vaccuum was a labour saving device.
A: It's hard work Francine.
F: You know what that slave-driver, Mrs. Flannigan, wants me to do later?
A:No
F: Clean the kitchen (looking horrified)
A: No problem
F: No problem?! Amanda, I am an expert at hand-to-hand combat, small arms weaponry, wealthy men between 30 and 40. Definitely not a kitchen person.
A: You know how to cook right?
F: I know how to hire a cook.
A: Look, Francine, just go down there, do the best you can and then fake it!

CJ: I need numbers fast...and maybe some garlic and a crucifix.

reply

Amanda I love your dress.

Thanks

Isn't that fusia? Mother has one just like it.

reply

Oooohh as long as we're pulling quote from Welcome to America Mr. Brand let me add this one.....

Francine to Lee as they're coming out of the briefing room back into the Bull Pen, looking at a surveillance photo of Clayton Dobbs that Lee is carrying.....

F: Kenneth CLayton Dobbs? Seventh Earl of Twickensham?
(Looks at her own photo of an older gentleman)
F: And I get, sixty-five year old Secretary of Industrial Mobilization from Tasamania. Thanks Bill. Real nice.

CJ: I need numbers fast...and maybe some garlic and a crucifix.

reply

It's been so long since I've seen the show. I miss it! So forgive me if my wording is off. Here's a great scene:

The blue wire, I really think you should cut the blue wire, Blue wire, blue wire, I really think you should cut the blue wire.

How did you know?

When the dryer is on the frits I just jiggle the blue wire

reply

Ah...I loved the burns back forth between Amanda & Francine. This was a great bit of business, from "J. Edgar's Ghost". Amanda & Lee are going to hit the singles bars on M-Street in search of the person leaking J.Edgar Hoover's secret files. .

Francine: Well, you'd better get hazardous duty pay, Amanda, because M Street is kind of a combination of tag-team wrestling and full-contact karate.
Amanda: Do you know that first hand? (she instantly throws up a hand and adds, in a rush) I'm just kidding Francine, I'm sorry, I never should have opened my mouth, and I know you'll get me back.....
Francine: (deadly smile) You're right. (she begins to exit)
Amanda: I really am sorry....(shrugging, to Billy & Lee who are on the verge of cracking up)...I couldn't help it.

But my favorite line from the series....From the very end of "Utopia Now", about the previous night's snuggling & near-kiss while hiding out from Sacker's men:

Amanda: Lee.....about last night....
Lee: I know, I know....it was just two people seeking a little warmth, right?
Amanda : Not exactly! (she smiles brightly & quickly walks away, camera freezes on Lee's stunned expression)

Priceless! And the turning point in the relationship, really. They'd had similar exchanges at the end of previous epsiodes, always rationalizing any closeness they'd shared as part of their cover/circumstance. This was the first time either openly acknowleged that there was something more going on that just friendship, and the relationship took on a more openly flirty tone thereafter.

reply

That was certainly one of my favorite episodes.

Francine was just such a great character. Martha musta had fun playing her, I know I woulda.

reply

I don't know if anyone is even paying attention to this thread anymore since the last post was in 2007, but I thought I'd contribute my favorite quotes.

From "There Goes the Neighborhood"

A:I'd feel like I was lying and sneaking
L: You are lying and sneaking. You're working for the government.

From "Wrong Number"

L: How would you rate me?
A: I wouldn't. (pause) Not yet.
Then Amanda makes a quick escape leaving Lee with a dumbfounded look on his face.
For Amanda, that was basically "come and get it" and he was completely clueless. Absolute priceless scene
