Naomi's wigs

I prefer her NBC hairstyle w/the straight long fall as opposed to the mid-1980s tight perm from the syndicated years. Opinions?

reply

me too. I also thought that she was more down to earth and more ladylike with the long straight fall. the heliumed hair also heilumed her voice.

reply

Nah!! Not me!!! I like the curly perm better! Seems like it took some years off her face. She looked older with the straight hair! And the later Naomi was funnier too!

reply

Nope. She looked much older with the wig.

And perms and big hair were very in style than!

There was a scene that had Mama, Vint, Naomi, Iola, and Bubba in it...I realized at that moment that Bubba is the only character that doesn't wear a wig!

reply

You think Vint wears a wig? Nah!!! That looks like real hair, not a toupee!

reply

Sometimes Vint's hair looks like a toupee, but not all the time.

Tink... do you think you could pinpoint some clips/scenes where his hair just looks a little off -- what makes you say it's a toupee?

not pressuring you, but if you could show us really what you are talking about that would be great!

I'm not sure any particular episodes as it's been a while since I've seen them, but as the other poster mentioned, in some of the syndicated episodes I THINK it kinda looks like a toupee.

reply

Years ago on his MySpace page, Allen Kayser said that Ken wore a toupee.

reply

Wow!!! It's a good toupee than!! Looks natural!!

reply

OP here. I think that his real hair is seen in the first 2 tears , then a toupee in later years. it is a good one in that the front hairline is doing what a man's hair does at that age, but it's much too full in the nape area. Google his appearance on the Golden Girls...now that's an obvious wig...to dense at his age at that point.

Her hair in real life was kind of big at the time. I guess it was easier to put a wig on and make it big, like they did with Peg Bundy on Married with Children. Women like that need big hair to go with their animal prints and kitten heels. lol
