The Family Sketches in Syndicated format...just something to ponder lol
I know someone here said when a show, like MF, revises history in the later episodes, we are then supposed to look at the past through the eyes of the most currant, latest, revision of history..... Such as Since in the later syndicated episodes it was established that Bubba had always existed, we are to believe during the NBC episodes is when he was stealing cars, and being a delinquent, etc.... Fran was mentioned so everything we see about Fran in the NBC episodes stands..... And since Fran was established in the NBC episodes, I GUESS we are to think she existed in the Family sketches....and was just off screen.
There is debate on whether Buzz and Sonya still existed in the syndicated episodes, so for those who say they did NOT exist any longer.... when we recall the NBC episodes, I guess we are supposed PRETEND like they aren't there.
So it just brings me to my point, I wonder what a typical Family Sketch from the Carol Burnett Show would have LOOKED LIKE if it were from the perspective of the syndicated episodes of Mamas Family... Which according to some is HOW we should view the Family Sketches, and past, when the history was revised in the synd. episodes.
Would Mama have still been AS dependent on Ed and Eunice? Would the syndicated ACTIVE version of Mama been content, sitting around playing board games? SOmetimes Eunice would go off on Mama and Mama would actually back down, sometimes Eunice would even yell at Mama to "SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP, OLD LADY!" Would that fly with syndicated version of Mama?
Like I wonder what the Sorry sketch would have been like in Syndicated format?
