special prior to 1983????

I recall seeing on tv either a series or a movie prior to the so called series 1 in 1983 showing vince and penny courting and the lead up to him jilting her at the alter and then riding off to canvey island where he was pushed off the sea wall by a good samaritan into the sea, could someone tell me if this is available on dvd or video, and even if it was a series or a movie??

If this is not available on either dvd or video I was wondering if anybody has taped this off the tv as I would very much like to own a copy, thank you all.

I do not know weather this will be made availible

Although the events are before the series. This was actuly a christmas special made about half way through the run of the series.

I have been looking for the same thing and cant find it anywhere, I cant even find the third series on DVD. There where two christmas specials if anyone has these please let me know.

There were 3 series and a 90 minute Christmas special shown in 1984 (the final episode of the last series was shown on Christmas day 1986). The 1984 special is told mostly in flashback, showing Penny and Vince's courtship. I'm not very hopeful of that being relaesed on DVD, or series 3 for that matter. The least I can hope for is that the BBC will show it again in the near future.

Lucky man! I don't expect this will ever be officially released, because it includes bit of Rolling Stones songs, one of which was originally by Buddy Holly, and I suspect there may be copyright issues which would be too tough to overcome.

It's currently on YouTube in about 9 parts.
