I remember one in 1987 when I was six, and it was on cbs or abc on saturday morning. I didn't know there was a live version until it was on the disney channel.

This reminds me of an argument me and my friends used to have about The Munch Bunch TV Show, was it a cartoon or puppets? In the end I think the conclusion was that the title sequence was done with puppets but the actual show was in cartoon!
