The character Begoony from the episode "The incredible shrinking Mokey" used to freak me out when I was a kid. I can still remember him. In the episode he was nice to Mokey at first but then he began to shrink her and put her in a doll house to keep because he was lonely or something. I don't know why but that just seemed like a scary episode for kids. Does anyone remember what I'm talking about?

Begoony was like the possessive stalker boyfriend. He doesn't want her to have any friends or spend time with anyone but him. She is bigger than him to start with and she wants to take care of him. She goes everytime he calls, and he's very needy, but each time she sees him she shrinks just a little bit smaller until he is bigger than her and he is able to put her in the little house.
It is only when she stands up for herself and says "No" to him that she gains her height back.
Yeah and when Mokey introduced Begoony to Red as her best friend, he started whining saying, "But she can't be your best friend! I want to be your best friend! I do! I do! I do!", I thought, "Oh don't be so jealous, Begoony!"
shareThat's possibly my favorite episode because the "lesson" is that not only is it okay to take care of yourself and put your own needs first, sometimes it's absolutely necessary, and that in order to be healthy for yourself and useful for society, you have to put yourself first a lot of the time.
Begoony was indeed extremely scary.
He haunts me in my dreams.. "Mokey!!!! Mokey!!!!"
