Question about the VHS

I have the original VHS put out in the 1986. Does anyone know if this is the miniseries original length? I didn't bother to time it...it lists the time them as 200 minutes...I don't know if it means 400 minutes total or 200 minutes total. I remember watching the miniseries on television, and it doesn't seem as if it's missing anything. If someone who has the full length version can give me a sample of what was taken out, I could tell if it is the full length version. Thanks!

I had the opportunity to tape the miniseries when it was shown on TV. I used a single 6-hour tape running at extended play and also cut out the commercials. I was worried that I would run out of tape, but I just made it. I don't know if the version I taped is a complete one since I've never seen the miniseries on TV since I taped it.

Here in Germany a 4-DVD-Box Set from "Chiefs" was released. It contains the miniseries as it was shown in German TV as three parts with the length of 283 Min in total. It has as a plus a DVD with the international release (here the UK-DVD!) with the length of 208 Min. As it is written here in the imdb much of the second part was edited out in the international dvd ("The Sonny Butts story"), about 75 Min.
All these DVDs are with german and english sound, but in PAL (Region 2 color format).
So, I think the longest version with the original length is now the german release with 283 Min.
