60s Dave or 80s Dave?

Would you rather live with 60s Dave or the 80s Dave? I prefer the 80s Dave, he had some emotion and he wasn't as temperamental. Furthermore, he had this reassuring Danny Tanner-like personality, which I guess is not uncommon for single TV fathers. I think the 80s Dave showed some more compassion and patience. I think he showed it especially well in the episode where that cat got killed when a car ran over him.

I agree with you on this...the 80's version of Dave is much cooler then the 60's version.

Who did he end up marrying?

reply

80s Dave, if only he was a real person, and not a cartoon. I'd so marry him!

The 80's Dave

80s Dave by a long shot

I like both, but I mostly prefer the 80s Dave. There's more character in the 80s Dave. That's why I'mupset about 60s Dave. 60s Dave was just there, he had no personality. I guess that we saw more of Dave in the 80s and early 90s, there was just more of him to grow on us.

60s Dave was a jerk.

60s Alvin was funny though. A lot funnier than 80s Alvin, and this is coming from someone who grew up with the 80s show.

Definately the 80's Dave. He was a real FATHER to the boys.
The 60's Dave was nothing but a promoter and manager, and even somewhat of a slave-driver. His only interest in the Chipmunks was in how much money they brought in.
In real life, Children's Services would probably have removed them from his custody.

I've seen both, but 80s Dave definitely. The way he calls Alvin's name just never gets old. Plus, 80s Dave was far more attractive and had great hair!
