Did anybody ever actually pay them?

They were supposed to be 'soldiers of fortune,' but I can't recall an episode where the people they helped out had to pay them; they always 'overlooked' the charges for a good cause.

reply

Well, I don't know if you ever saw money be exchanged, but they talked about their fees all the time.

RIP Wayne 'Trapper John' Rogers. MASH wasn't the same w/o you. RIP Tony Burton. RIP George Kennedy

reply

I think there was a rider in their contracts that said you don't pay if they don't hit anybody they shoot at.

reply

Oh, well, THAT would certainly explain it. Or maybe they based their fee on how many bad guys they killed?

They should have pro-rated the bill based on the number of vehicles that flipped over.

Well that wouldn't have bagged them a whole lot of cash since it was usually the same vehicle in every episode.

Hey! You're not old enough to drink! Now go and die for your country!!!

Two episodes that I recall they actually got paid in were Cup-a-Joe and A Small and Deadly War. In Taxicab Wars and Diamonds and Dust they took a percentage of the business profits

Excellent call, Dg.

I recall early season 1 and 2 where they did but specific episodes regarding women or older customers (whom didn't have all the funds) ... they accepted what they could offer. Same when there was an episode with a kid helping out his family, B.A. made it clear to the guys not to charge. That was due to his love for the children.

reply

Yeah, maybe a little too much. I kid, I kid.

X-Men: Apocalypse 8/10. TMNT: Out of the Shadows 9/10. RIP Doris Roberts. You were wonderful in ELR.

reply

You better be kidding or there would have been some serious foo pitying for sure.

reply

I never heard anything bad about him and children. He was a good guy, apparently.

RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great.

reply

They had some rich clients, too.

reply

They got paid a few times but it was mostly profit shares. A lot of the episodes were them helping each other, people they knew or jobs they stumbled into.
