Who played better Faceman? Tim or Dirk
I like Dirk better then Tim when Dirk played Faceman. Who's your favorite Faceman?

Dirk Benedict was born to play Faceman. The other did an ok job.
shareWhat kind of question is this? He was in one episode. Lol. Dirk is the clear winner, or they would've kept the other guy.
RIP Tony Burton. RIP George Kennedy. RIP Doris Roberts. You were wonderful in ELR.
I hope I can call you 'Ceej,' Ceej. *hehe*
You promised me a free t-shirt "for being an asswhole," but I still haven't seen it. Is it in the mail?
How is your insane mother, and your father/uncle Lep, and your two clown counins/brothers, Lucky and Jingles?
Gee, the Horror board is boring without you, Ceej; when ya comin' back to see us?
Oh, BTW: That avatar looks like a pig in a lacrosse helmet, and I should know.
Good to C-ya, Ceej!
Get it?
- Crazy. All crazy but I'm.
I found question odd as well but liked Tim because he fit the bill as a pretty boy which is what they wanted. Sadly he didn't mesh well enough for the direction they wanted. Although Dirk was an attractive man I saw him more of a showman than a playboy.
shareThat's not why they let him go. He was too young to have been in Vietnam.
shareI don't think the guy who played Face in the pilot was bad.
As said, one actor has one epiosde, the other had more than 90 episodes. People are always going to be more used to one over the other.
But if you watch the pilot, and tried to forget that Dirk ever played him, it's still a decent performance by the original actor.
How can anyone forget Dirk?

Tim Dunigan as Templeton Peckshare
The A-Team
Dwight Schultz (Murdock) has often told the story about how he was certain he was going to be fired from The A-Team. It was Tim Dunigan who kept reassuring him throughout filming the pilot that his job was safe and he was going to be fine. Ironically, it was Dunigan who was replaced by Dirk Benedict, when producers decided he looked too young for the role of a Vietnam vet.
Would it have worked?
Not this time. In the pilot Dunigan assumes a number of roles as the team’s resident con man, from a priest to a millionaire cowboy. And it just doesn’t resonate. This was material that had to be played with a wink, but his scenes with the rest of the team lacked the camaraderie that sustained The A-Team through years of repetitive scripts. According to IMDB he quit acting and now works as a mortgage broker.
I think he was in a Cheers episode too.

Dirk Dirk Dirk Dirk..... As I watch the A-Team over and over again I realize Faceman was really the number #2 member to count on.. Dirk played him to perfection after George Peppard playing Col.Hannibal SMITH . George was so amazing and perfect as Col.Hannibal Smith . I really feel all actors and the writing was correct.
Definitely well cast.

Maybe it was because I didn't remember the episodes in order as a kid and when I was older, I watched them out of order (where were you in the 90s Netflix?) but Dirk was far superior as Face. I don't think Tim Dunigan would have ever fit that role, even if he'd had years.
shareDirk was the man.
RIP Gene Wilder. One of the funniest people of all time. RIP Matt Roberts. You were great.
I agree, Dirk was the man. I have rewatch The A Team, have you notice that Murdock can't work well with the first Face then he does with the second Face?
I think part of the problem was that Tim was too tall. Also, he wasn't cut out to be a star...he was just an actor without the charisma. He's okay for supporting roles but you wouldn't cast him as a co-lead.
