So I'm watching When You Coming Back Range Rider...

And Bus, the bad guy says about the Indian protagonist, "Send him back to his reservation in a basket", meaning kill him, right? Then they proceed to drag him behind the car to kill him, I imagine. Then all of a sudden he's in LA looking for the A-team. How'd he escape? Last we saw him, he was being dragged behind a jeep.

I guess either they decided not to go through with murder or he was able to break free?

reply

How? He was being dragged. Even if the rope broke, they'd notice, stop, and run him over, or shoot him. There's no way he could've escaped.

Bad editing? Sometimes for time reasons they cut certain scenes that would have added better to the continuity of the story. Unfortunately to the keen viewer this doesn't always work well.

You don't have to be keen to notice this huge flub. "Send him back to his reservation in a basket." Aka kill him. They drag him behind a jeep intending to kill him, and the next scene he's in LA? Makes no sense. There should be some explanation on how he escaped.

I remember taping the episodes off TV reruns in the late 80s, early 90s and that was what I knew for a long time. Watching the DVD versions or (even reruns now) gives you so many more scenes. Like watching a whole new show sometimes and more stuff makes sense. I still haven't been able to figure out the Range Rider scene where Murdock is disguised as a bush. It's in his credits before a lot of episodes but I've never seen the actual scene. We need to organize a protest and demand everything be released on Blu-ray. With commentary. : )

It's in the episode on DVD. I just watched it. My scene of how the Indian escaped is a real headscratcher.

The Murdock-Bush scene is on the DVD version?? I have the older ones, not the fancy van boxed version but I'll have to go check. Wish they'd just put it all together. There's another scene (I can't remember at the moment) from the credits that I've never seen in the episodes either.

reply

Yes and it's phenomenal.

I have the original DVD set from like 2009, or so, and it's definitely in the episode, the Murdock as a bush.

I have the 2005 set and I just went back and watched the Range Rider episodes and finally, finally saw the Murdock-as-a-bush scene! Thank you! Don't know how I missed that. Must have only watched those on my DVR.
