Heather acted her scenes when she was covering herself.
A body double without a doubt. The real question is why? Was she that big a star back then to refuse a topless scene? Remember this was before the Fall Guy series hit big. The other strange thing is the body double's hair is almost black and her breasts don't even look close to what Heather was packing. Maybe the budget just couldn't afford it, lol. Even in the scene where Heather kind of covers up after her dress comes off there appears to be some kind of body glove on her top half.

However, during shooting she refused to be filmed topless, insisting that the nudity was neither necessary nor appropriate. In post-production, the producers inserted close-ups of a topless body double into the scenes and Miss Thomas complained to the Screen Actor's Guild that moviegoers might think it was her. In an unusual move, the producers added an advisory to the end credits that a body double was used for Miss Thomas for the photograph and her nude scene. Funny thing is...... seeing Heather topples was the only reason to see this film. Finding out it was NOT her.... just ruined a found childhood memory .

shareAt the time when this movie was released in 1982 I was 10 years old and when it finally showed on HBO late at night I was around my teenage years because it took longer back in the day for newer movies to make appearances on the premium channels. Now once the movies are released on video they are showing on the premium channels.
Yeah I always thought myself that it was Heather until I watched the film and noticed that it was not her. I do not know why she complained for because in her bio it says that she has a nice 35C chest. I know that some women love to show off what they had but it tells you that her parents I a referring to Ms. Thomas must have raised her right.
Trust me I have dated women that loved to flash what they had and if they could get a muse out of it they would just to see how the guys react to it. I think the movie would have been better with her being topless. That is just my honest opinion.

That's not true this is something I was aware of then so I know this. New release movies would hit cable 1 year later to the month. The big blockbusters like Star Wars released in 77 took longer and didn't hit cable until 83. I remember that being a big deal.
shareIf you read the credits, after the cast list, it states that a body double was used for Ms. Thomas's nude scenes. Also, being that this was one of my favorite movies as a teenager, I've seen it dozens of times, and even frame-by-framed it during the scene where Peyton (Willie Aames) takes her picture in the dark. If you do that, you'll see that she is completely clothed, and the photo shown later in the movie is clearly doctored.

I actually did this with our VCR back in theday. She is fully clothed in the same pose as in the picture later seen.

What supposedly happened was Heather agreed to the part as long as they dropped the nude scenes (boobs popping out at the prom and the photo.) They agreed but during shooting, the producers hounded her into baring all. She refused and they suggested to go topless but they will only film above chest height. After no joy they got the body-double in to film the scenes required. When it came to her dress being pulled off she wore a body stocking and put tape around her breasts in case they got a nude shot by accident. Apparently loads of people turned up on set that day to watch Heather getting stripped, even though they promised a closed-set.
Recently in an interview, Heather mentioned that she had won the role in 'The Fall Guy' around the same time and she had to sign a non-nudity clause, promising not to bare all while she was connected to the show.
It is possible that she agreed to bare all in 'Zapped!' and during the course of the shoot she got the 'Fall Guy' gig and had to sign the clause, forcing her to refuse the nude scenes in the movie, or, maybe it happen just like Heather said so, the 'Zapped!' producers going back on their word!
Whatever reason, it's an unusual situation for a relatively unknown actress to be part of.
So she agreed to it in the script but, changed her mind when the time came. Talk about a prima donna chasing after work. I've worked with damsels like that.

She is very pretty but, my only problem is that she looks too much her age to be in high school. She looked pretty silly in some of those kid's clothes (and hair-do's) when she clearly had matured into her 20's. She was older than Scott! And looked it too.
