Hill's masterpiece

The world according to Garp is George Roy Hill's masterpiece. Better than Butch, The Sting or Slaughterhouse five it has a unique tone and characters i will never forget, specially Glenn Close's incarnation of Jenny Fields. The screenplay by tha late Steve Tesich is also what i regard as the perfect adaptation of an impossible book to adapt. The ending leaves me in tears, always.

Glad you liked it... I was mildly entertained, and more because of the accurate prediction of feminism and the capability for destruction that it forecast. The Sting is a classic, and deservedly so... and has the accolades and receipts to back it up. Atleast Slaughterhouse Five was imaginative, and one of the first films to ever suggest that the USA was not completely innocent in World War II by mentioning the bombing of Dresden which has been brushed back under the carpet of age once more.
