Question From A 'Y ' Chromosome

I am 49 years old and can remember the feminist movement quite well. I've never had a problem with it; in fact I thought it was great. I've never understood the concept of paying a woman less than a man for the same job or automatically assuming a female professional was any less competent than a male. I've had numerous female bosses and got along with them well. I honestly cannot recall ever being admonished for opening a door for a woman.
As for sexual satisfaction, (a topic that seems to walk hand-in-hand with feminism)I've always...ALWAYS tried to make sure the lady I was making love with had as much fun as I did. If they faked their orgasms, they were all extremely talented actresses. (No, not bragging; I've only been with 5 women in my life.)
My question is this:
Am I the type of guy feminists are referring to when they talk about "pigs"? In other words, am I the type of guy Jenny Fields was impugning in her book? This is not written in sarcasm; it is totally genuine.

Sticks & stones may break my bones, but they'll break YOURS, too.

LOL firstly whats it got to do with Y chromosome? (apart from you having it)

The question should be whether we should treat ALL people the same, or differently?

Different people are different so they should all be treated differently.

In a capitalist system, if a woman can do better jobs than men why shouldnt they NATURALLY get paid more ?

maybe women hate me ;)

do you hit women? coz i know you would hit a man, so you are being sexist for not hittin women.

Seems to me feminists want the cake and eat it as well !!

reply

Women, in general, don't get paid less in the US because the 'man' wants to keep them down, and they don't get paid less, in general, because they do inferior work. They get paid less, because in general, they are not as aggresive as men at negotiating their salaries.

Sigh. . . You know, people like you are the reason we have the women's movement in the first place.

But who is going to bake the cake?

reply

Yes, you are what they refer to as a "pig". Lots of feminists (Robin Morgan, Hanna Rosin, Andrea Dworkin, Mary Daly, Sheila Jeffreys) make no pretense of hiding the fact that they hate males.

Broad sweeping generalizations have always been a problem for me. When a guy holds the door for me, I'm fine with it. As long as he doesn't do it because he thinks he has to or because I'm not capable of opening the doors for myself, whatever.

I'm a feminist and I don't think men in general are pigs. I think a lot of men are not taught by their parents, to respect women. I think a lot of men are scared by words like feminism because they think women are trying to dominate them or something.

My point is you're not a pig if you don't behave like one, like the other posters on this thread for example.
