Treasure of the Four Crowns Fan Remaster Project

A couple of years ago I announced on this forum my project to restore TOTFC and master it onto a fan-produced DVD. Unfortunately, other personal commitments and a major computer meltdown resulted in the abandonment of the project. Since hearing about the upcoming re-release of 'Comin' At Ya!', I have decided to get back to work and the project.

Obviously, this is purely a fan project. It's not for profit and I don't intend on making a single penny from this.

Since I began the project some years ago, DVD technology has somewhat passed us by. Perhaps online distribution would now be a better option.

Here is the checklist for the current project:

* Possibly acquire a better 3D video source. The version I have in my possession is a VHS-Rip of the field sequential 3D version. There is, to my knowledge, only one better 3D source. A Japanese company released a field sequential 'VHD' Laserdisc sometime in the 1980s. The quality of these discs are much better than the VHS versions. I am currently trying to a source a VHD copy.

* Rip the source video and convert into separate left and right eye images.

* Upscale the video resolution, sharpen the image, colour correction, noise removal.

* Composite the left and right images into new, digital prints. One will be 2D, another anaglyph (red/blue) 3D and the last ColorCode (blue/yellow) 3D.
