The Blade at the end
Does anyone know if the blade at the end, with the blood coming out of it when the guy slits his throat is for sale anywhere?

well, this reply comes pretty late (about 2 years after the first post), but if you're still inteested, there is a very simple way to make one of these for about $5. Here's what you'll need
Aluminum heating duct tape (they sell it at any hardware store, easy to work
with and it looks just like a solid piece of metal.
A small piece of sturdy cardboard
Packaging tape
A drinking straw
A fake grape (I know that sounds strange, but trust me) Make sure it is the
kind that you can squeeze, then will reinflate.
A shoehorn, or any type of handle material
And here it goes. Cut out a 2 pieces of the cardboard the size of the total blade length and width with a nub in the top corner to attach the handle, the same height as a flattened straw. Laminate these pieces of cardboard with packaging tape so they'll be more waterproof. Flatten a drinking straw and bend it so that it it is parallel with the blade for about 3/4 of the blade length.

Lay the drinking straw so that the portion 3/4 of the blade length runs along the bottomof the blaze, and bend it and crimp it so that the rest of the length will be even with the handle. Blow in the straw to make sure air/liquid can still pass through it.

Then cut a few small holes in the bottom of the straw so that liquid can come out (a holepunch works even better, just use the very edge of the punch) and tape up the very end of the straw with thin scotch tape. Tape the straw in place (to the handle and the main part of the blace), then put a little piece of cardboard in the center of the thing, just above the straw, so when it is completely flattened out it won't pinch the straw too tightly to keep the liquid from moving. Place the identical piece of cardboard over what is done so far. Cut a piece of aluminum tape like this:

Fold the part from the diagram above over the bottom to connect the two ends, leaving that gap at a point where it won't cover the portion of the straw with holes in it. Then cut off any extra that is hanging down and off of the other sides and from the position in the diagram, cut off part of the top left corner, rounding it off, to make it look more realistic. Flaten out any possible wrinkles in the tape with your fingers, then blow in the straw again to make sure air/liquid can still get through ok. Then tape up the handle, beyond just the length of the cardboard, this is going to be the whole handle, so go up the straw too. Then use a little strip of masking tape or something along the edge to make the 2 pieces look separate.

Now for the handle: You can use pretty much anything that looks like a handle, I ended up using a shoehorn, but you could use wood, a knife handle, etc. You'll be holding this part so it doesn't have to look like anything special, but you do need to make sure that one side of it has an opening. Connect the handle to the handle of the blade with glue, tape, whatever, but make sure to leave the straw sticking out of one side (the side that won't be facing the camera, person you're trying to screw with, etc. It will be concealed in your hand anyway, so no worries about the straw showing. Take the fake grape, squeeze it as flat as you can, then dip it in a container of fake blood and let it go and it will fill up. Then stick the end of the straw into the opening of the grape and pump the straw full of the fake blood. It may or may not seem to do anything the first time, a smaller grape will have just enough to fill up the straw. Keep doing this until you get the first drip out of the blade, then wipe it off, reload the grape, and your'e ready to go.
It actually works pretty well. I'll take a look for the one I made tomorrow and throw some pictures on here.

Thanks, I almost forgot about this post. Here are a few pictures of what it turned out like. The flash really accentuates any little inacuracy in the foil tape, but in reality it looks a lot more like a smooth piece of metal.

For the hell of it. I like trying to figure out how they pull off some of the cool props and special effects. Usually they don't work, but a few come out pretty good. Another one that works well is taking a cup of flour, adding a little bit of water and working it into a piece of dough with extra flour to spare. Flatten it out, cut out an ear shape, fashion the ridges and cut out the hole, and toss it in some boiling water for 5 minutes. Comes out the exact color and feel of an ear, and in a zombie styled film you could chew it up without having to wonder what is in it. Works for fingers too, if you detail it and cut in the little joint lines and stick a fake press-on nail in it.
