The Film's Title.

I'm not able to watch this film as no video rental stores in my town carry it, but I was curious as to what the title has to do with the story line. Doesn't "Tenebrae" refer to some Christian or specifically Orthodox Christian way of observing Good Friday? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I read somewhere that Tenebrae has something to do with darkness which makes the title ironic since the murders take place in full light, and that there is darkness (death) in the light.

To quote the sleeve of the Austrian release:

'The translation of the italian word 'Tenebrae' is 'darkness', which is a contradiction to the film itself. It's Argento's 'brightest' film to date, in a sense that many of the films scenes occur outside, and this is clearly deliberate.'
