Anyone agree with me on Peter?

He was just so polar opposite the entire movie. Way cordial, nice, not an ounce of anger or anything negative. It was hard for me to buy into the last scene. Paranoid, just a complete lunatic. If he was that out there he wouldn't have been able to hide how he really was that long. Still loved the movie, but was let down by him being the main killer.

Yeah, I agree it was a bit incongruous.

But you have to remember that Peter Neale actually recovered from the mental illness he suffered from as a kid. Therefore he was normal until the Italy murders started. When Cristiano Berti started wiping people out Peter Neale suffered a relapse and that's when he began to kill again. The trauma is just too much for him to handle. He kills Berti and then starts butchering all the people involved in the case to cover his tracks. I guess you could say that Peter Neale isn't actually the real killer as he only murders a couple of people compared to Cristiano Berti.

It's a well known trope of the Giallo genre for the victim to become a killer after witnessing a violent murder. Tenebre is an odd film because it has two killers that influence each other.

He actually murders quite a few. I think his total bodycount is 5.

Not at all. There were nightmares and it all fits in just fine. Great work by Anthony Franciosa.

This must have been a cemetery for the... Spanish conquistadores!

considering all the real life murderers who escape detection(even from their own families)until it's too late,it's pretty naive to say peter being the killer was "implausible".
