Tenebre or Tenebrae?
The movie is titled 'Tenebre', and Peter Neal's novel 'Tenebrae'. Is there any reason for the small difference in the spelling?

I've only ever seen 'Tenebre' on the US DVD release. Here in the UK, amongst other European countries, it's 'Tenebrae'. A bit like 'colour' and 'color'. Even though I'm British, I prefer the spelling 'Tenebre'. The added 'a' makes it look weird.

I personally think that the title 'Tenebre' came about via a spelling mistake, like with 'Donkey Kong' (meant to be called Monkey Kong). Since the book in the film is called Tenebrae, I believe that's the proper title of the film.
shareI actually think it's the other way around, since Tenebre is an actual Italian word while Tenebrae isn't.
Although... would an English-speaker pronounce Tenebre different than Tenebrae? It's the only explanation I can think of...
Nah it'll just be like 'encyclopedia/encyclopaedia' and 'esophagus/oesophagus' etc.
