Not an awful movie, not great either. It has an 80's hammy appeal and it seems to have visually attempted to be a sort of sequel to the much better Excalibur with Nicol Williamson and Nigel Terry
Well, the shooting style is pretty basic and uninspired. The music is awful as hell. The performances are actually okay from the veteran actors, and the lead playing Gawain does a decent job, but the film, for all of the costuming and other work that went into it, was sloppily put together.
It actually reminds me of my pre-university films, stuff I shot with me friends before going to film school. You can see there's a kind of talent in there, but it's kind of scatter brained. It's almost as if the director didn't know what shots to shoot, or lacked a story board or shot design.
I'll have to see it again to make another assessment.
