So, did Harry Manfredini just use a bunch of his leftover F13 score for this movie? Seriously.

Yeah they had their budget cut and its was cheaper to just reuse another score, at the time Friday the 13th wasn't a huge money maker and Jason was not yet the face of the franchise

There's no doubt that there are some very audible common threads between these Manfredini scores.
F13 1 - 4, THE CHILDREN, SWAMP THING, HOUSE, etc., do sound very much alike, and are detectably by the same composer even for those who aren't in the know. But really, these compositions are much more sophisticated than one might think.
Harry Manfredini's scores have a very dry, "Italian" sound. Very busy, shrill, bombastic...but yet, whether done on a budget or just to his preferences, they seem to have smaller orchestras and are part synthesizer.
Very much like the difference between Howard Shore's score for Cronenberg's THE BROOD (which also has that shrill, dry, "small orchestra" Manfredini-esque sound), and his later scores for Cronenberg (which were much more robust and overtly "orchestral" sounding).
But back to Manfredini, within that "dry, cheap/low-budget" sound, the compositions are very refined and specific. And some of them are very prolific. Yes, there are similar sounds amidst them all, particularly with those strings riffs that recall F13, and the synthesizer flanging effects he employs in all of them. But, for example, the militaristic action music of SWAMP THING - with the heavy drums and brass - is very distinct and very different from the horror ambience of the other films. Also, there are some very lovely, more romantic, amorous sounds in the SWAMP THING score, particularly in the moments dedicated to his relationship with Cable, and when he is remembering his sister, etc.
Some wonderful person recently uploaded the entire SWAMP THING score on to YouTube between two links. Please give it another listen and another day in court. Yes, you all are absolutely right to point out the similarities, the arguably dry, low-budget familiarity. But really, this score and Manfredini's body of work are again much more diverse and sophisticated than people give them credit for being.
