Atrax Morgue original soundtrack

For all fans of this movie, as well as fans of extreme power electronics/experimental noise, you should be aware of a very strange recording by Italy's homicidal/fetish noise project ATRAX MORGUE.

Atrax Morgue released a cassette in 1994 inspired by the film New York Ripper.
This is a "personal soundtrack" to the film. Meaning it has nothing to do with the film's actual soundtrack, but is in fact original music inspired by the film itself.

As for the music itself... 30 minutes of very Harsh and obscure analog noise, using a few treated samples from the film. Cold minimalist violent electronic soundscapes that, in my opinion, totally capture the essence of the film.

However this is not exactly Top 40 type stuff. Even today's hardcore mall punk's will probably be very turned off to this kind of avant gard weirdness.
I being a fan of both of the film and more ecclectic forms of music, love this.

I understand that New York Ripper was recently re-released on CD and available via Atrax Morgue's label Slaughter Productions.

I dig ATRAX MORGUE... i have their CD on Relap$e, but I've never tried to find any other releases. Thanks for the tip, buddy.

If I remember right, the French giallo obsessed band Blue Holocaust has a song dedicated to "New York.." on this album "Twitch Of The Death Nerve".

Also Frightmare has a song based on it on "Midnight Murder Mania".

Atrax Morgue is far more disturbing and violent then any silly grindcore band. If you want the soundtrack to an autopsy check out Atrax Morgue. If you want cheesy cliched metal, then go with the grind band.

Grind.. silly? Ever heard Psychosadistic HateRapist?

Anyways, as from the Atrax Morgue songs I'm heard since this post they seem alright. Not my preferred style, but I could listen to it on occasion.

Modern Death Metal is infinitely more silly than good, solid Grind Core. I love Noise as well, though...

I sadly just learned that Marco Corbelli from Atrax Morgue died by his own hands last week and hung himself.

While I am dissapointed by this I am not at all surprized. Marco was the real deal. Just listen to any Atrax Morgue recording and wether you love it or cant stand it (usually there is no in between with Atrax) there is no denying, this was truly art projected by a sick brain.

R.I.P. - Marco Corbelli. Happy Birthdeath!
