Katherine McColl Was Suspicious?

In the IMDB trivia section of The New York Ripper, it says:

"The lead role was originally offered to Katherine McColl who had previously starred in Fulci's City Of The Living Dead, The Beyond & House By The Cemetry. She was apparently a little suspicious and turned the offer down, it would of been her second time appearing with Paolo Malco."

My question is: What on earth was Katherine McColl 'suspicious' of??

Given that she'd appeared in gruesome scenes before, it must have been the sexual content she objected to. Must have thought Fulci was making a porn movie.

Probably the overwhelming hatred shown toward women. Perverse, over the top sexual brutality. Accusing all attractive women of being whores.

This is all just off the top of my head, naturally. There may be more to it.

In any case, I'm glad she didn't get the part. The girl in the movie works near-perfectly, i think...

Considering that Fulci had been quite abusive to her on his previous gothic films and in one of them flung maggots and filth at her for an extended shot, I reckon she'd have tonnes to be worried about.

By the way, could you just take a few moments to read my signature . . . Thanks.
