The Slayer/Scalps VHS 2-pack edited??

I see this movie is offered on a VHS with two movies on it (The Slayer and Scalps double feature). The runtime of each is only 75 minutes. IMDB says Scalps is suposed to be 82 min and The Slayer is supposed to be 80 minutes. Does the VHS contain two crappy edited versions? Is all the good stuff cut out on the VHS, and hence a waste of money? Are the uncut DVD's the way to go? Anyone know the deal?

i have the double feature video with the slayer and scalps on it that was put out by continental video in the 80's and from what i see it wasnt cut. it still had all the decapitations and *beep*

according to imdb it is edited only for pacing reasons. which is kinda cool cause that is the only weak area of this otherwise slasher masterpiece.

"how about... a royal flush!" *loren avedon kicks a cauldron of boiling water into the bad guys*

hey how are you i was wondering if you know anything about a company called marquis i have the slayer on vhs put out by this company the running time on this release is 95 minutes the vhs is from 1982 thanks

I rented the Double feature in 1984 when I was 13 . . . uncut for sure. In fact they had to use that video to reconstruct Scalps for the DVD (hear the audio commentary).
The Slayer has scary music and is very over-rated . . . if it wasn't for the ubiquitis (spelling) scary music the film would put you to sleep . . . in 1987 or '88 The Slayer was released as a single . . .I was too old and wise to rent that after copying the double feature with two vcrs and rca phono cables . . . 2 head vcrs and mono . . . what an ugly scene compared to now.

yeah the films are edited. not because of the violence, but to make room for both features on the one VHS tape. all the violence is still there, it not like that, it was one excluding select scenes to make the room.
