The scene on the subway

SPOILERS:

When the young girl unexpectedly dies from her heart condition while riding the subway with Mary and Dudley it's a pretty jarring scene but the one thing I always remember was the lifeless stare given to the girl from the young boy sitting across from them, as if her death was just another mundane event on a NYC subway in the early 80s. NYC was still kinda rough if you didn't know how to navigate the city, and this scene encapsulates that feeling so well.

Yeah it's a rather cold and harsh scene after so many magical scenes of Manhattan at Christmastime.

She didn’t have a heart condition. She had leukemia. She had a stroke which was a complication of her leukemia.
Anyway, great film.
