Jamie's House Location

This is one of my favorite thrillers from the 1980s - I think Morgan Fairchild was (she still is) lovely in this, as was the photography by Mac Ahlberg. In the movie, Morgan's character Jamie lives in a gorgeous house - does anybody know if this was built just for the movie, or is (was) it an actual home in Los Angeles? It's beautiful - the sequence where she is driving home and Derek (Andrew Stevens) is following her - the entire neighborhood looks amazing. What area of L.A. is this?

Oh I agree about the house, it's a DREAM. The pool, the jacuzzi, the bedroom, those winding steps...it's quite amazing (though the film's excellent cinematography probably helped). I want to say it was filmed in Bel Air section of LA, but don't quote me on it. And yes, Morgan Fairchild is strikingly beautiful in this film.

Jamie's house is located in the Malibu hills. Derek's house/apartment is located in the Hollywood Hills. The car scene was filmed in the Pacific Palisades which is also where Robin's house, which was actually Rito Moreno's real house at the time, is located. It was through the magic of movies that they were made to look like neighbors. Sorry I don't have the actual addresses.
