Morgan Fairchild's opinion

Does anyone know how Morgan Fairchild feels about this film now? She was a no-show for the DVD commentary. I wonder if she has any regrets about the film or if the nudity bothered her. Upon viewing the film now, she is actually quite lovely in the film; she is always photographed looking radiant and she keeps your attention throughout the film. She hasn't said much of the film since it's initial release in 1982. Did she not get along with the director or was it a troubled shoot? Anyone know?

That's too bad. I actually love this movie despite some of its cheesy moments. It is by no means perfect but it is damn creepy and some of it is so cool (like the whole shotgun scene), I am surprised that it gets so little attention. I can see that it is pretty dated, that is inarguable, but still, it sucks that they all regret it.

I'm surprised that the director feels that way about "The Seduction." By no means is this a bad movie, it's actually become a cult classic over the years. Morgan Fairchild, Andrew Stevens and Colleen Camp are great in this - they'll all done projects that are lesser than this. As for the Variety review - I can't see how one negative critic would make the cast or director think they'd never work again. I would be curious to hear what Morgan thinks of her big screen debut now - I wish she would've done the DVD commentary. Still, I love this movie - it's entertaining and it's visually stunning for it's time. Glad to see there are other fans of this out there.

Morgan Fairchild is visually stunning for sure. It's too bad if she has regrets about doing this movie.

Morgan Fairchild is proud of her performance, Bette Davis saw this on cable TV, and complemented her for her efforts in this film. (Morgan worked with Bette Davis on the pilot telefilm for the "HOTEL" series.)Morgan is also proud of the fact that many Video Store owners told her that when "THE SEDUCTION" was released on videocassette, the film helped to keep them in business for several years!
Also, I asked Morgan what her feelings are now-over 30 years after it's release...she said "It was a breakthrough film for it's time; it was the first celebrity stalker film, with an early fem-tract that she-(Jamie)turns the gun on him-(Derek) and hunts him!"

"It (The Seduction) was the first celebrity stalker film with an early fem-tract that she turns the gun on (her stalker) and hunts him..."

Not really; that film would be "Lipstick" made in 1976, 6 years before "The Seduction." Margeaux Hemingway played a high profile fashion model, stalked (and raped) by a creep. In the end she hunts him down (with a shotgun) and exacts revenge. The film is largely forgotten, but it was most likely the first celebrity stalker/revenge film, and technically speaking it's probably better than the Seduction.. Also you are forgetting "The Fan" with Lauren Bacall, from 1981..same theme as this movie.

Morgan said on the tonight show that the Seduction was "such a terrible movie".
