Rocky Overrated

Rocky is a great fighter, but isn't his popularity kind of overrated to an extent in this movie? He appears in a bunch of commercials, t-shirts, candy bars, magazines, TV shows, pinball games, toys, meets the president, and even gets a big statue in his honor. Isn't that all just a little too much for a champ who really didn't care much about fame in the first 2 movies?

Kind of the same as someone like Mike Tyson who has all that merchandise, video games, ect.
And Rocky is a much bigger deal in his home town of Philadelphia where his statue was.
