Clubber Lang should have listened to his manager

He told him to stop wasting punches, let Rocky come to him, think, and adopt a strategy of attrition.

Some people think that Clubber was not in good shape, the truth is when you go into a violent RAGE and throw everything you have at your opponent it is as exhausting as running a full on wind sprint. He did that for 2 rounds which is like running a full on 3 minute wind sprint with one minute breaks.

Had he paced himself better and not relied on a knockout within the first 3 rounds which I admit he was used to he would have lasted MUCH longer. He still would have lost I mean he was facing someone who had been trained by Apollo (and beat Apollo albeit barely) and who would about 3 years later be able to beat Ivan Drago.

I suspect that ultimately Rocky was in EVEN better shape than Clubber and that had Clubber not fought in a rage Clubber still would have been more tired than Rocky but that would have happened much later maybe round 8 or 10.

Mohammid Ali beat a lot of his opponents by letting them go into a rage early in the fight, he would even insult them before the fight just to make them angrier so they would fight like Clubber Lang. Many of Mohammid's opponents were stronger than him and could hit harder (George Forman) and he won by gradually wearing them out. Rocky basically fought using Ali's strategy.
