Rocky III wasn't a very good movie sequel.

Here's a list of the stuff I disliked:
- Mickey died (he was the reason what made Rocky so great)
- No Gazzo anywhere (I did read that the actor and Stallone had bad blood)
- Style over substance (fighting over anything else, basically)
- Rocky 3 is basically Rocky I except it only focuses on fighting and with a new fighter
- Paulie constantly complaining and how blatantly racist he was
- Mr. T did not have much or any time for character development
- Hulk Hogan against Rocky wasn't all that interesting or funny
- It felt rushed
- The movie itself felt like it didn't have a heart like Rocky I & Rocky II did

With the nostalgia goggles taken off it's really not a very good film while Rocky I and Rocky II are still fantastic, imo.

I posted on a different thread that Rocky won the final fight too fast. Knockout in round 3 of what was supposed to be a fifteen round fight. It would have been more exciting if the final match was a little longer, maybe five or six rounds.

Not a full fifteen round fight because Rocky really needs to dominate Lang, if he can barely beat Lang it would not be believable that he could beat the way tougher Drago.

I like the idea of Lang tiring out too fast due to over exertion and wasting his energy but it happened TOO soon it should have happened a little more gradually over a few more rounds.

Wasn't that the idea of the story, that the only way Rocky can beat clubber is if he takes him down early on using speed & finesse? Rocky just can't go the distance with a fighter as powerful as Lang anymore. He was getting too old and needed to change his style.

I've always thought the end fight in this movie was perfect. Less was more, and you saw Rocky actually using a strategy to defeat his opponent instead of another 15 round slugfest. Made a change, I guess.

He was my C.O. in Nam. CIA listed him as MIA but the V.A. ID'd his M.O. and put out an APB.

I like 3 the best of the sequel's. 2 was like a worse 1, 4 was as much comedy as action, 5 was awful. Balboa was ok but nothing special. Do we count creed? Not really imo

3 had some good elements, like creed becoming more of a real person, plus a different type of film then we saw in the past, focused more on the fight

For me I think 2 and Balboa are the strongest sequels.
