Gay culture for straight people

It's a wonderful example of gay culture not just for gays.
But for straight people as well.
I am a straight guy, and I adore this movie.
It's a film about passion, which power is so strong,
that human soul and human flesh don't survive.

I agree with your sensituve comment.
Querelle by Genet is a masterpiece. Fassbinder was one of the few (or only) geniuses that could adapt the novel to the cinema, and, although controversial,
it is a masterpiece.
The themes you mention are universal themes, not only gay.
Bravo, Fassbinder!

I think a lot of Derek Jarman's films fall under this category as well. Especially stuff like The Garden, War Requiem and Edward II.

I definitely need to see Querelle again; haven't watched it in years.
