The characters were 31 and 16. As for the actresses; Laurence Fishburne played Cuba Gooding Jr.'s father, and they are only 7 years apart, so it really cold be worse (and it was in a parody of Cuba and Laurence's relationship in a comedy staring the Wayans brotehrs).

shareIt was 11 years . Pretty amusing when the character of the mother is 32 and they make the daughter 16. The father would be pushing 40 so maybe statutory rape . :/ I think the oldest should have been 10 or 12. Dunne was too old . Or Williams too young . Although both were great in the film .

shareKeep in mind that this oddity was probably not an oddity. Spielberg and Lucas wanted to make the past Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood affair very disgusting. As in Jones being in his 20s and Marion being 11 years old! It wouldn't fly and no one would accept it (Rightfully)
So Spielberg turns around and puts it in everyone's face in this film.
Yes, it was obvious Diane was barely out of childhood when she gave birth to the eldest daughter. It wasn't an oversight. There was precedence. That is how the mind of Spielberg works.
So think about the other allegations floating around about him.
