Seriously? Where was it? That's my favorite Piunk Floyd song and it wasn't even in the freaking movie! And before any idiots say "Well this movie was just the album 'The Wall'" Hey You was on the Wall. This movie is weirdsville anyway

Not only that, but they considered it too depressing and long. It also just rehashed everything that had happened so far, and would have made the movie far too repetitive.
Roger Waters said (and he should know) that a decision was made at the editing stage to omit the "Hey You" sequence as from a narrative point of view it stopped the movie dead in it's tracks after which it never really recovered.
IE the movie simply worked better without "Hey You".
"I think you're a load of old crap too, Mr Mulligan."
I don't care if I'm alone on this, I really didn't like this movie. the animation was distracting and impossible to take seriously. The best scenes where when he was a child, the war scenes, and the Neo-Nazi scenes. Everything else was straight up weird. I went into the movie expecting it to be extremely surreal, but it was just plain weird. And the omission of my favorite Pink Floyd song (although it was omitted for a good reason) didn't help it at all

The DVD release (and presumably the eventual blu-ray release) has it as a special feature. I'm kind of hoping for the BD release they give the option of viewing the film with Hey You re-inserted - via seamless branching or whatever. I don't much care about the pacing of the film. I think it's all beautiful given the context.
Honestly thought the animation was by far the best bit. I just put up with the live action stuff to get to the animation. The creative freedom and symbolism it brought just made it so much better imo.
Was very disappointed with the Neo-Nazi bits. I thought after listening to the album that he was leading the public like Hitler did (at least in his imagination) but the film just made them look like a small bunch of ruffians causing at worst, a bit of nuisance.
But there were two extra songs not on the album (1 of them 'Shall we buy a new guitar ....' I forget it's name, is great). It's not a weird film if you know anything about psychology, I think it's a very heavy and powerful film. A rock opera to end all rock operas.
That song was called "What Shall We Do Now?". It was originally meant to be on the album but apparently it had to be cut because the album was running too long. It was replaced by the shorter "Empty Spaces" although I honestly think ES was inferior.
