I had always thought Bob was a big Floyd fan, I'm sure I saw it in an article at some time or another. However in the trivia section here it says he originally didn't want to accept the role due to his dislike of Pink Floyd. Can anyone confirm the correct story?
shareAt the time the movie was made Geldof claimed not to be a fan (he probably wasn't lying) However around 2005 he went on record during a TV interview stating that while he wouldn't consider them all time favourites he's since came to the realize that Dark Side of the Moon is a classic album that he enjoys listening to.

Apparently when he heard he'd been offered the Wall he was in a taxi being driven by a relative of Roger Waters which is an incredible coincidence. He was talking about Floyd in a very uncomplimentary manner.
