Whys the album and the music from the movie sound different

I don't really know how to explain it really. Anyone who has watched the movie alot and listened to the album have to know what I am talking about. Songs are either sped up or slowed down.

"Sailors fighting in the dance hall."

Almost every track was either re-recorded or edited. Some tracks were added or lengthened, or changed completely.

I'm guessing they did that to make it sound better or to help the story progress better than the album.

Also, I think they had Bob Geldorf record some tracks to match him in the film.

I thought some of the choices were pretty cool, like the orchestra in the rally scene.

Several of the songs were remixed, some sound effects were added to some, and Bob Geldof actually sang on a couple of them.

I actually plan to create my own mix using sound forge with plugin "dsp_centercut plus" and acid pro with the separate soundtracks ripped from the dvd and the original cd album divided into two tracks (using dsp_centercutplus) and create my own masterpiece.
I'm very confident It will come out superb since I've been "dreaming" this idea and how I want to piece it together in my imaginative mind for the last 30 years.

The soundtrack bootleg is out there if you look around for it. Pretty much every track is different in some way, some radically different like 'Mother'. My only gripe with the soundtrack was some of the songs were trimmed, 'Run Like Hell' and 'Waiting For The Worms' are noticeably shorter and of course there's no 'The Show Must Go On'
