Any home video insiders who know of a future Hi Def Remaster/Blu ray?

I know that someone else already posted this, but does anyone have any tidbit or morsel of RECENT info regarding a release that improves upon the 1999 DVD that had/has a flawed presentation Picture quality wise? I guess 4K seems a little excessive, but we got nothing. I just feel like venting about how this still isn't out on Hi Def! Feel free to vent here as well.

Nobody knows a damn thing about it. Seems like it'll never happen at this point. Damn shame. I still have the 25th anniversary DVD but I'd love to upgrade. Its certainly long overdue.

Well, there is a Blu Ray Knock off in mediocre Hi Def quality. Its a recording from HDnet movies. I believe the channel made a good hi def scan from the best quality theatrical print they could find. It does LOOK better/sharper than the dvd, the animated sequences benefit the most. I say mediocre Hi Def picture however because it has issues with motion blur for some reason and of course the film scratches and damage are highly visible. as an example of motion blur the opening sequence with the concert goers and soldiers is kind of a blurry mess. The audio is also lesser than the DVD. It's better than nothing, but it is by no means a must buy. When I was able to synch this Blu Ray to the surround (70mm theatrical) audio from the 1997 laserdisc release I could almost convince myself I was watching the definitive home version (this title is one of 3 films I keep a laserdisc for on the audio end). If you're interested in the Blu Ray, here is a link.
